Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It was rolling. I'd be writing angry emails to city council members if a train was stopped on the MUP like that, dontcha know!

It sucks using extenders when you are out on the road. You need to use thread tape on them so best to buy a few extras and put them on the tubes prior to your ride.

Drove home from Snowshoe this morning. Once we got home I went straight to Mom's and cut grass for a few hours then came home and cut mine. Most people can't handle all of the excitement I experience.

I dunno. My weekend was spent getting old glass out of windows with some putty knives and a heat gun. Then I gave the lawn it's first mow, with a bunch of laundry and house keeping thrown in for good measure.

Oh, and I finally picked a new color for the roof.

Oh, and I discovered the shoulder does not approve of our bumpy, ****ty lawn. Sigh.

Nice March weekend for riding. 42 miles slogging in the wind with some friends yesterday, could only deal with around 20 today.

Is that hard to do? Are you going to replace the glass?

It sucks ass. I broke both the big panes and two out of six little ones, so I'll have to replace those. Still have one, six pane window left to do for this round. After I get all the old glazing scraped out, I have to sand, and refinish the wood, clean up the old glass, cut new glass and set them in with new glazing and points.

It's not bad if you have one broken window to fix, but we're in the process of reglazing every window in the house. The multi pane ones with muntins are the biggest pita.

Yeah, I read the thing over on ST about them. Long valves would sure be simpler. Will see what I can find, price-wise.

And, in other news, I am officially moved out of the old place. All that's left is the serious unpacking over here. At least I have tomorrow and Tuesday off from work to do it in.

And of those three upcoming dates, two are on Tuesday and one on Wednesday. Not how I'd normally do it, but should be fun.

And cracked and failed out of 8DC day 2. Which was a blow to the ego, to say the least. I am not a stage racer. Don't know how anyone can spend that much time near FTP on successive days.
