Picked up my NEW BIKE TODAY!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I didn't know a bike path could talk dirty. I didn't even know a bike path could talk.

Seriously, very nice. Very nice, indeed.

Wow it's a beauty! I just picked up the same frame (but 5.9 version so different color), I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I have been. Great pics too I love the handlebar shot!

Make sure to post your impressions after your ride

Ditch the bike path when you get to the end in Woods Hole, and let that baby open up a bit along the rollers going past Nobska Light and down to the beach. You can pick up the path again, if you want

Also, half of the path is washed away just past the last road crossing at Surf Drive---there are cones and safety tape blocking the wash-out.

Very very nice! Now, let's see; two expensive hobbies, very nice, eh? Now, hope your fiance is not high-maintenance or expensive. If so, then you'll have hit a perfect trifecta

No amount of Zipps will off-set that back-pack behind the saddle. Nice bike. :-)

Need a small pack to carry my Leica

Thanks everyone, had a sweet ride this afternoon along the Cape Cod coast on the Falmouth bike path. The Domane rides beautifully, super fast and comfortable. Jed-Fiance is definitely not high maintenance, thank god. If she knew how much this bike really cost she would probably call off the wedding, LOL.

Hey PreLaw! Thanks for the tips but saw this too late. We have a house in Centerville on Craigville Beach and getting married on Martha's Vineyard in September. Any suggestions for awesome rides on the Cape or MV? Cheers!

September is a great time for the Vineyard. Just do the loop that goes around the Island. Start out on State Road from Vineyard Haven. Then bear right on North Road in West Tisbury, and follow that to the fishing village at Menemsha. Leaving Menemsha, turn right at the Crossroad (first right), and then turn right on South Road towars Chilmark and Aquinnah. Stop at the Gay Head cliffs, and then head back. When you get to the crossroad (the signs say Beetlebung Corner, if you can believe that), bear right along the south side of the Vineyard, and follow that to Edgartown. Then take the road along the beach back to Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven. I think the entire trip is between 60-65 miles. Traffic isn't too bad there, after Labor Day. The roads are narrow, but drivers tend to give you room.

There aren't that many main roads over there, so it's hard to get lost.

those are some sweet rims. And that crank, that smooth, voluptuous crank.

I'm not a photographer, but if it were me, I would've chosen a grey background to complement the white handlebar tape and saddle

congrats. i rode one with ultegra di2 at a local demo day this weekend. i liked how the bike absorbed a lot of the road, but at the same time, i felt like i was in a super upright position like i was riding a beach cruiser. maybe i should've pressed them a little more to flip and lower the stem. when i was in the drops, i was still more upright when im ontop of the hoods on my supersix.

Just wanted to give a quick update on my bike. I took everyones advice and upgraded to DURA-ACE. I decided to hold off on the Di2 on this build and use the extra cash for a full ZIPP carbon cockpit upgrade (New SL Sprint stem 110, SL-70 AERO Bars, Zipp carbon spacers, Zipp plugs). Also upgraded the white saddle to the new Bontrager Paradigm XXX in black. Got rid of the saddle bag (didn't realize this was big no-no LOL) and phone mount (waiting for my Garmin 1000 order to come in).

Thanks everyone for your excellent input and advice. I did wish someone told me about how I needed special DURA-ACE 9010 integrated brakes for the Madone 7. I ordered the wrong brake set with my group and so I'm stuck with (for now) the OEM Bontrager integrated brakes. Anyways, I'm really happy with the final product and looking forward to riding this weekend!

looking good... I think I did warn you about 9010's.. I like your decals.. something I would do. My MTB cracks people up with the stupid decals I have on it.

I want the 200 F2 more though

Thanks guys! LOL, nice eye on the lens spdntrxi! You probably did tell me about the 9010's-I was all over the place and couldn't decide between RES22 and DA. Turns out the dude I bought the group from doesn't even have the 9010 integrated brakes so it's all good. Selling the 9000 Brakeset on Ebay and I'm sure the Bontrager are great.

lens lust... I have no use for it. I don't do basketball or volleyball.. so. Hell my 400L collects dust, so I can't even justify v2 anymore. 85L has nice enough bokeh but focus speed sucks even with a 1DX... anyways...

The bontrager brakes are alright.. I'm using a Tektro for the rear and DA9010 for the front. Not totally happy with the tektro though. Will probably get the direct mount EE once it's released which is very soon. The DA 9000 group is nice... you will love it. The 9000 vs 9070 not much difference except the FD on the 9070 is magic in my opinion. Going from the big to small hitting a climb and back on a descent is awesomeness. My other bike is Campy SR11 and I'm extremely jealous of the FD.
