nipple chafing
Every time I wear bibs without an underlayer my nipples start to chafe. I'm doing a century this weekend and don't really want to bleed through my jersey.
Surely I'm not the only one with this problem?

i don't have this problem, but girls who just get boob jobs put bandaids on their nipples to keep their newly sensitive nips from rubbing their bra. Don't know if they would stay on for a century though

I do not have this problem when riding but do when I run. I have found for shorter runs "Bodyglide" is a great product for longer runs I use these : https://www.runguards.com/products/nipguards and they have been flawless. Good Luck.

I have one jersey in particular that chafes, but no problem when wearing bibs. Chamois cream sounds like a good recco.

Don't not wear an underlayer...I always wear a really tight base layer, not so much for my nipples, but because I don't like the way bib straps feel on my bare shoulders, even the ones on my expensive bibs.

Not a problem for me, but then again, my straps aren't mesh in front. I could see how mesh straps over nipples could chafe.
I used to chafe all the time when running, and would up putting some green goop called Cramer's Skin Lube over them. It didn't help that I always wore cotton T-shirts. That was over 30 years ago. Better fabrics to wear now.
Pro tip: if they still make those Cramer products, don't ever mistake the jar of Skin Lube for the one with Atomic Balm in it.

Or tuck the straps into the waistband and wear them like shorts. Shoulder straps annoy the heck out of me.

Descends like a rock
I've had the same problem. Not to the point of bleeding though. I just wear shorts in the summer and the bibs when its cool enough for a base layer.

Easiest solution - just get cycling shorts, and dump the bibs !
Chafing cream - it depends on how bad the chafing is. It provides little bit protection, but not a whole lot.
Very tight base layer - In hot, humid weather, it is a bit irritating ..
Bandaid - works really well, but pain in the ass to put it on and off every day
Why buy Bibs in that case .. Just get shorts which are cheaper anyways .. ??

I just don't see how this can happen during cycling, though. Unless, of course, you were the topic of the "bobbing and bouncing" thread.

Yes, the chafing is from my mesh bib straps. Never had the problem while wearing shorts...why do people use bibs again?
I think I'll try the bandaid route, hopefully they stick to my hair chest in the 85 degree humid weather we're supposed to have Saturday
