I was in a fake scout club back in the day (run by a church).
For the bicycle honor, one had to do a 50 mile ride. We did a 5-mile out-and-back ten times, as I recall. A legacy was born. I got honors in cats, seeds, candle making, track and field, orienteering, among other things. |

Admittedly crappy shot of the Verrazano Bridge, a major NY thoroughfare connecting Brooklyn to the mainland, or at least closer to the mainland. I just haven't gotten around to getting a better shot. It's a really huge bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the world at one time. And once you pass under this bridge, you're headed out into the big "A" pond . . . next stop, Europe.

Two people killed, 360 homes destroyed and forcing the evacuation of more than 38,000 people. I call that sad.

I went to the farmers market and bought a watermelon.

Went well, I needed new shoes the worn out shoe pains were eliminated.
I ran 4 miles then rode the trainer for 40 minutes then ran 2 miles and didn't have any problems. |
Didn't get rained on today.

If it was a fake scout club were those fake honors?

My brother is on a 10 day motorcycle trip to Yellowstone. I would imagine that he is encountering some inclement weather.

Oh, and I ran Tues, in the rain, with my 13 yr old dog. Running is still dumb. I like to double check that a few times per year.

I would think pre-burned Oklahoma would serve as a nice firebreak for us, but perhaps the tornadoes blew up tumbleweed from Texas. Might need to ready the garden hoses. |
