Shimano Ultegra 39T chainring compatability

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Shimano Ultegra 39T chainring compatability

Does anyone know if the Shimano Ultegra 39T chainrings are interchangeable between double and triple cranks? I bought a new 39T for my triple but when I received it it was marked double. It has a different part number than the part that is listed for the triple. Is a 130mm 39T the same for both?

The difference is there are no ramps/pins built into the chainring for a double. The triple cranks have this to assist shifting from the small ring to the middle.
