SCOTT F01L - how many people have found the joy!

Hi - went to pick up my F01L 15 Tuesday - got it setup as wanted. I do my own bike fits. Nothing needed changing, just adjusting. Went out Wednesday and yesterday. Probably have done 80miles (still waiting for my Cateye Stealth 10). My top speed seemed noticeably quicker, I could climb much more aggressively, didn't need to shift up/down the gears as much and found the ride comfort to be stiff but supple.

So who's got one and what's ya thoughts, did you find performance gains from the off?

Loving Di2 BTW ... sooo slick :)

His Holiness.

Forgot - did change two things, the tyres. Took off the Ultra Race and Put Conti GPs 24c on @ 110psi. My rubber of choice.

"My top speed seemed noticeably quicker" ^^^ That did it.

They were on my other bike, too.

Of course it seemed faster, you're always faster on a new bike. It will fade, it always does. But enjoy, the feel of a new bike is a wonder that crosses all brands and models.

Hush, you - he bought more speed, just accept it.

cerealkilla 06-16-13 10:08 AM

I didn't buy more speed, just a bike that works better for me and one where I can noticeably feel myself being able to put more power threw the pedals. Simples innit.

Pics to follow, just waiting for some sun :)

Oh, well that makes much more sense.

My Addict is notably more comfortable than the Foil by the way.

I bought the frameset alone- that's the Foil Premium frame, the frame/fork are like 100+ grams lighter than the cheaper frameset they use on the lower line Foil models, although I doubt the performance differs.

I'm sure that the difference allows you to put more power threw the pedals.

You really are a bit of bell-end aren't you, does it come naturally or has it taken time to get to your level??

Still raining/cloudy, may have to be an indoor pic :)

Johnny Rad 06-16-13 12:11 PM

Clarification on my pic request, I want to see killa's Foil...

Neither - I was able to buy the upgrade.

My Foil Premium with D.A. 9000 crank/calipers, 10 speed Di2 and Williams 38 carbon clinchers with a G3 Powertap weighs 16lbs even as pictured above. That's quite light considering the components. Not as comfy as the S2 was, but WAY better for climbing/racing or any competitive cycling. Stiff BB.

The LBS also had some 2011 Durace Addicts in for £2599. Was what I went to see, along with the Madone 5.9 and various Domanes... Got the Foil 15 though; to me it felt the best fit and I've been interested in Di2.. was also 50% off RRP, with it being 2012, literally the last one (54cm) in the country which SCOTT UK found in their warehouse amounts the wrong stock, and was offered to my LBS as a special clearance item. SCOTT UK and my LBS are only about 20 miles away. Whilst I was there picking up my bike Keith Murray (races for SCOTT and did the US east to west ride) came in to collect a few frames for his euro trip. He also races a F01L Premium :)https://www.scott-sports.com/gb/en/n...E31494A504EED2

2012 Foil 40.
I do like it quite a bit and it is a great little climber.

As pictured, weighs in at 16.8 pounds.
