Shimano DA 9000 C24 vs Zipp 101 = Lightness vs Aero?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just my .02
It's not about you personally, or what you see. The angled brake track and fully-toroidal rim are extremely effective. No one ever gives the 101 any respect, but it's pretty damn aero, and not far behind the old 404.

Pretty much taken over the 23/24mm width market. At least until everyone wants the new 26mm HED

Huh? So....you haven't built with it? I love Kinlin and don't get me wrong - built a ton with the XC279, but the SL23 is simply in a different league. It's tons lighter, and it's stiffer/stronger. You can't even remotely justify it to a customer when both are options.

What about the H+Son Archtype? They are pretty light and from what i can tell pretty stiff. I've been riding them for about 2 months and love them.

Slightly OT perhaps but I'll ask anyway.

1. I've been curious about this - the ability of aero wheels to maintain speed better, how much of it is actually due to greater moment of inertia of the wheels (since they are heavier) and how much is actually due to their aero properties?
2. For a flat TT which would be faster? C24s or a wheelset with similar aero properties as C24s but heavier rims with a greater MOI? Basically would you pick a heavier wheelset in some scenarios?

Thank you very much for all the feed backs, reviews and recommendations.
At the end, I was sucker into wanting both light weight and with some aero benefit.
Merlincycle has a promotion on their Zipp wheels, I've pulled the trigger on the Zipp FC 303 Tubular @ $17XX shipped.

Cheers!
