New Chain for Shimano Ultegra Triple

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Chain for Shimano Ultegra Triple

I have a Shimano triple bottom bracket chain ring SG A 52. The rear shiftier is also a Shimano Ultegra 9 ring sprocket. Despite a tune up at my LBS the chain is skipping on the rear sprockets. I have a few thousand miles on the bike and think a new chain could solve thee problem. I counted the chain links and there are 54 (i.e. 54 x 2 = 108). Does anyone know what chain I should order for this 2004 Cannondale R1000? Thanks, adkron

I use KMC chains on my 8-speed and 10-speed cassettes. They work well, and they have the "Missing Link" which helps with installation.

The problem can be a derailleur that is slightly out of adjustment, a worn chain, a worn cassette or a combination. Try the cheapest one first (make sure of the adjustment), then the next (a new chain) and finally the most expensive (a new cassette).
