Anyone here own/try FLO wheels?
 

I have to say, I'm pretty intrigued by these wheels. There's not a ton on these guys out on the web but what I have found seems very positive. I signed up for their web updates so I get notices when they do a Pre sale (which every time sells out in min).

I'm not in the market for aero wheels just yet but I may be in the next year (yeah...I'm a gear guy...sorry). I was wondering if anyone here has a set of these wheels.

Sub $1K for 60 or 90mm aero carbon/alu clinchers isn't really a horrible deal if they're not junk...

As for posting it here...I figured I would have a small chance figuring how many here have aero wheels...

Roadies, typically, don't like Flo. They're awfully heavy by comparison to carbon clinchers and even non-weight-weenie roadies care more about weight than aero. They're really most popular with triathletes; I understand BeginnerTriathlete has a big thread about them as well but I can't stand that place.

Further, the huge mindshare still goes to Zipp and HED. Flo managed to crack that some with the tri scene, but others like November and Boyd have released proprietary wide U-shaped carbon clinchers to a chorus of chirping crickets while the market still flocks to the big 2.1.

they were given write up in one of the bike mags....wheels are very heavy simply a normal wheel with a carbon layover for aeroness.....not a bad thing but not in any way a light fast wheel....as always you get what you pay for......they may be faster because of the deepness of the wheel but that deepness is glues to an aluminum rim

I replaced my old 808s with a set and couldn't be happier. The weight doesn't matter for real riding or racing and the wide aero rim is a nice step up from my old zipps.

They're certainly fast for triathlon and time trials. For the typical roadie talk of surges and climbs... maybe less so. I don't know how much weight truly matters for that vs how much is just feel.
