Don't see these around much (Delta7) kinda interesting. Came across while browsing Robin William's bike collection that went to auction a couple years ago (BTW, good documentary on him running now on HBO):

Okay, they come out of a mould, but have you considered how many hours of painstaking labour goes into laying them up?
Sure, the labour isn't anywhere near as skilled as that required to make a metal frame, but then there's all the knowledge and work that goes into actually designing them, not to mention the tooling, which absolutely dwarfs the design input into pretty much any metal frame, by orders of magnitude. So if 'soul' is a consequence of how much effort, time, and hard-won knowledge that goes into a bike, modern high-end carbon wins the day hands down. |

Then you're missing something. Sexy inherently says curves, and no other bike material is better at producing curves than carbon.
These are real road bikes, just with the curves of a cruiser: https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...32216725d4.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...1e87eabd28.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...dbb27e9e94.jpg As for soul? These bikes are hand made, soldered and/or TIG welded by hand. |

I've seen your steel bikes, and your are the last person that should be talking about "soul".

I'm sorry, but the Trek and Specialized are about as far from 'sexy' as you can get in cycling. Personally I just feel like those 2 brands specifically have about the most plain-jane, boring shapes and paint in the industry. They just don't do anything for me aesthetically. Giant, Fuji, Cannondale,Scott don't do much better, either. I look at a lot of the boutique brands, and those just look like though was put into the design to make you want to look at them.

Yeah, that's sexy like platform stilettos, vinyl miniskirts, fishnet stockings and bedazzled halter tops.

How's the handling? Looks like the steering feel might be a bit light.
Kind of scary on fast descents? Could be, but folks that ride them heave a ball. |
