Best Place Ride 30A Area FLORIDA

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Best Place Ride 30A Area FLORIDA

The family and myself are renting a house in the Grayton Beach area/Florida on 30A hwy. I usually just go back and forth up that 30 mile stretch until I am tired. I had a few cyclists I know say they would go East on 30A then take 98 a few miles to where it hooks up to Front Beach Road in Panama City. To anyone familiar with the area, Front Beach Road worth checking out? I always like just going up and down 30A, as it is beautiful. Only downside is there is some stopping and going when you go through the little downtown areas. Any thoughts?

You can ride front beach all the way into Panama City. As you get closer to Thomas Drive etc there are more red lights and traffic. If it's early in the am it's no big deal. We have a place in sunnyside and I ride both 30A and Front beach rd. I also rode this as a long ride one morning. I went early, traffic wasn't terrible and was kinda peaceful on the north side of the bad. Pretty wide shoulders everywhere

Have you ridden with the group that rides out of Robin's bikes yet? It's a pretty fun group ride with a coffee stop. They ride 30A on Saturdays and a different route on Thursday. The shop is in sandestin.

tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 7:30. Meets at their shop.
