installing campy levers

i know this should be in the mechanics forum but i figure ill get more of a response here. im replacing abroken set of campy levers with a new set and was wondering how i do it. do i need to take the cable all the way out to do this or is there another way? thanks

I don't think you have much choice. Take cable out. YOu'll have to remove to unscrew them which you get to by pulling in the lever. That will release it from the bar. And remove the cable since it hooks onto the lever. No way around that unless of course you release cable enough to pull it through part way and cut it but I can't see much point in that.
