Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2008 Specialized Allez Double

Got a chance to buy a used one that has been used very, very little. Asking price is $400 but, I need to know what is a fair price and if this is a good entry level road bike. My hope is to ride this for the balance of the year and buy Domane 4.0 next spring.

definitely a good entry level bike...assuming it fits you and doesn't need work. you probably wont love the Shimano Sora components, but they will certainly get the job done and help you appreciate the upgrade when the time comes for the Domane.

if it fits you, is in good condition, and doesn't need any work i'd say $400 is fair.

Looks like I found some information that would lead me to believe that $325 would be a fair price.
