Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm 5'10", 193. My L jersey fits perfectly snug. For those of you with loose fits, a smart seamstress can suck in the side panels. Use some safety pins and experiment. I bet an inch on each side would make a real difference.

This is great advice. For the small cost of a minor tailoring job, your jersey will essentially be a custom fit.

Wore mine to work today (had a work dinner and couldn't commute yesterday). The legs are about 1/4" above my tan line, but I can live with that. Feels good!

Same experience here. Doesn't take much getting used to, but once you do, it is just fine.

It's a little late in the year, but the higher the tan line, the better. I looked ridiculous in swim trunks this summer.

More Biblical rains here in Colorado. The bike collects dust indoors. Thanks Jeepster.

Hey gang, after one week it appears that people are receiving their orders. Please post your thoughts and/or pics here to show off your 41-ness and reviews of the product.

Also, thank you to all who have chipped in for their part of enjoi's kit. Out of 19 unique orders, 8 have paid their share. For those who have yet to contribute for the designer's kit, here is the breakdown once more:

20 buyers of jerseys @ $70 = $3.50
14 buyers of bib/short @ $90 = $6.43

I have taken into account only the number of transactions, so if you bought more than one of anything, it counts only once. Be sure to add both if you got a kit.

As soon as these ship and you have received your purchase, please submit your share via PayPal to bikeforums41@gmail.com (not affiliated with Bike Forums, this just makes it easy to identify). One person has already 'tested' this and it works. I'll post a reminder in mid-September.

First negative news re: the new kit. Nothing horrible, just sayin': Wore it for a longish ride yesterday in ferocious humidity and also heat. Lot's of sweat as expected. Problem was the dreaded nipple abrasion. After 20 miles the salt i duced painwas excruciating. Haven't had this problem with a jersey in years. Wondering if it is the Primal fabric or just the newness. Fortunately the long zipper allows opening the jersey up enough so the fabric doesn't touch the nips. Will lknow better to do this next time. YMMV

Good to know. I know it seems counterproductive in the heat/humidity where you are, but a base layer has always nullified this potential issue for me. My nips always got the raw deal from bib straps, which may be why you were the shorts guy? :-)

Yeah, still am! :-) No base layers for me 'til about December, but a little Body Glide will take care of the problem.

Broken pic/link. Did she want one too?

EDIT: See the pic now. Looks good - enjoi and Primal really did a nice job with the colors, staying away from solid white and using darker blues.

Boy, it has been a busy two weeks of not riding much. Thanks to those who paid their part for enjoi's kit. He has been out of the office for a while, so I mailed his kit yesterday to arrive with his arrival back to the homestead. Hope you all are enjoying your new duds - any new imagery to show off what no one else in the 41 has? I have used mine (bibs) in the gym for spin class and got a few comments. I am coming up with creative ways to expound the virtues of '41' without using the actual meaning.

There are still a few of you who have yet to contribute for enjoi's kit. Since I agreed to do this on per-transaction basis and not a per piece basis, I am taking a little loss as it is. Please take a moment to show your appreciation for the design and my part in coordinating the effort by making your donation by PayPal or PM me if you need to make other arrangements.

Ride on.

enjoi, what is your impression of your design? Fit? Hoping it is working for you.

At 80% response for the contribution to the designer's kit, I am calling it a win. Thanks to those who did their part. Hope you get in some good quality rides in the 41 garb before winter hits full force.

I saw someone riding with the jersey today at Seagull Century. I will grudgingly admit it looked good going down the road....

I was complimented on mine today while walking home, carrying my bike with two flat tires.

gc, were you part of the group buy? Nice to see it spotted in the wild.
