GTA V: Bike racing

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

GTA V: Bike racing

I thought this is a cycling related news. GTA V has bike racing side missions. Very excited to see how they implement it.

From the title, I thought you were going to be talking about cat 5 racing in the Greater Toronto Area.

There was mountain biking back in GTA San Andreas. Wasn't too good.

Yea I just watched the gameplay video. Needless to say it looks insane. I doubt the bike-aspect of it will be too robust though. I imagine you have one challenge with it, and then can ride it around and whatnot

Isn't there a tdf game? From what I read, the reviews aren't too hot.

Seeing how Rockstar have done so well with red dead redemption and their other games, this one is going to be just ridiculous. I'm not talking about the cycling part - couldn't care less about the minigames. I have a feeling this one is going to be 10/10

I'd like that, I haven't seen a GTA I liked since SA.

^GTA SA was by far my favorite of the series, so I'm looking forward to another installment set in CA. Those Liberty City story spin-offs didn't look too appealing. I enjoyed some aspects of GTA IV, such as the character acting and cell phone interface, and the 1080p resolution was great, too, but overall that game fell flat. Maybe b/c I don't know NYC very well, but the landscape was too uniform, and the missions weren't as fun as in the past. Maybe I'd just grown up a little. Btw, GTA SA had two separate triathalon races you could do from the top of the highest peak. The longer of the two races involved a long period (at least 30 minutes as I recall) of repetitive button mashing. I used to play more video games in my youth, but now I'd rather fix up bikes and have something to show for it at the end of the evening.

Waiting for "That's not mountain biking or downhill, that's trials, are you stupid?" comments.

Some of the numbskulls on r/gaming (******) assumed the new GTA V would allow you run over cyclists and they celebrated this. I think they missed the point that the cycling was actually a mission in the new game.

I was referring to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inOS0XBLwCA but the BMX stuff was fun too especially if you yoked out bike skill and muscle.
