Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bottle Cage Mounting Issue

Hey all,
I recently bought a cage for my new road bike that doesn't come with hex wrench holes. My problem is that once I installed the cage on my down tube, the tightness of the bolts were choking the gear cables and I couldn't shift properly. Any advice on how to mount it so it doesn't do that, given as well that I already have my U-lock bracket on the seat tube, so that there isn't enough room to put the two on it? Thanks.

Google "Zefal Gizmo" . This is a bottle cage mounting system that uses plastic straps that should be thin enough to fit between your frame and shift cables.

^ Yeah, this. You're not supposed to strap or bolt anything on top of the cables.
