Tires - Front and Rear Specific

Anyone have any feedback on the Continental Attack/Force tires? These are the front and rear specific tires designed to be sold as a pair. 700x22 front/700x23 rear

The UK Cycling Plus magazine rated them highly for their intended purpose. But, there are some cheaper tires that are also rated highly, including some of Conti's other models.

According to Conti:

GP Attack 4plies/ 370 tpi

GP Force 5 plies/ 430 tpi

I know a lot of other factors go into the the ride quality, durability (or lack thereof) and performance, but these tires have pretty low TPI - 92.5 TPI front and 86 for the rear! Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I am going to call BS on Continental. They make cheap casing with low TPI, fold it over 4 or 5 times to get these "amazingly" high TPI numbers, then reduce the thickness of the rubber to keep the total weight down:

Veloflex Pave's have 300-350 TPI with a lot less weight. Many low end tires have 127 TPI. Am I wrong? Do all tire companies multiply the TPI of the fabric x the number of plies?
