Matching brand for helmet, jersey, and shorts?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ditto --We have the same color helmet as our bikes. Matching clothing would be impossible.

From what I've been able to glean, Fred can mean slightly different things, but in this context refers to someone with much more expensive gear than their talent / skill / experience warrant. It can also refer to a green cyclist in general. I just go with it, and nick-named my Road bike Fred.
Oh that makes sense then. I just started with whatever jerseys and shorts were on sale that I could find be they on Ebay or in store. Coincidentally, they were the same brand. So no. I don't spend more than my level warrants.

To whom? Certainly not to the cognoscenti. To the cognoscenti, you most like an idiot when you show up with a the latest high-zoot bike, CF aero wheels, and matching pro team replica kit then ride like a toad.

I solve this issue by having no friends and riding in areas with no other cyclists.

You have said you prefer LG bibs so are you saying you ditched the specialized shoes for LG? Or are you saying they match in color? I think the OP was asking about matching the brand.

No. All my clothing is LG. Bibs, jerseys, socks, gloves, long sleeve jerseys.

Shoes and helmet are specialized.

The answer to the question: HELL to the no.

My shorts and jerseys are all LG, just because they all happened to be on sale at Nashbar when I got them (all ordered at different times). I got the LG jerseys because I saw someone else wearing one, and it was what I was looking for - high vis, solid color, no graphics or anything other than a small reflective LG logo.

Shoes are Bontrager because it's what the LBS had when I bought my bike, that I could also afford. Helmet is Specialized because that's what I got from the LBS years ago. Gloves are also Bontrager because my preferred LBS is a big Trek/Bontrager dealer.

Shorts are black, jerseys are high-vis yellow or orange, helmet is red/white, gloves are black/green, shoes are black. Bike is black with red/white accents. As you can see I could care less about matching.

Having said that, though, I would love to get the Giro Aeon helmet in black with the red/white accents that would go perfectly with the bike.

I wear black shorts and a T-shirt when I ride? I wear a red helmet and don't wear gloves? I know half of you are being facetious, but the other half.... I don't even know what brand my "gear" is. For goodness sake just go ride.

Would you match your helmet brand to your jersey and short's brand? I know it doesn't need to match but given the choice, should they match?
Now keep in mind this is my opinion only...................when I see riders where everything matches it screams one word..........."Poser". Now like I said, my opinion only. I see folks that match from head to toe and I can't help but laugh to myself!

Here is what I try to do when picking my battle wear for the day..................Very bright colors so you are very visible to cagers. Shorts don't neccessarily have to match jerseys but I am not opposed to it. What I hate to see and chuckle at are people who wear team brand everything head to toe like they are pro riders. It just takes away I think of why your riding. In fact I make efforts to get untagged (nothing written on them) jerseys so more room for colors to shine through.

But like I said, it is my opinion only. I am sure folks look at me wearing a hodge podge and think that poor bastard can't afford name jerseys! I just roll that way.

Main thing is............be visible!

My thoughts exactly, that's why I held off for so long getting bike jerseys until I found the LG high-vis ones that don't have graphics all over them.

wrong...sunglasses and helmet must match; however, it's acceptable to have a duo-tone helmet as long as the two colors are the same as the sunglasses frames and lenses...

everyday you pick out clothes to wear in normal life. Cycling is the same. If you think it looks good then you're good to go.
Unless you are a bad dresser. Than good luck.
