Hmm, not that I wanted an OSBB frame, but good to know I can run one without an adapter now.

I like the 11/27 cassette. I was thinking about getting a 36/52 crank and running a 12/29 cassette. However, a 34/50 crank with a 11/27 cassette is more useful for me.

I'm not too crazy about this idea:

"Internal EPS battery that mounts to the inside of the seat tube and is held in place by bolts that pass through the water bottle cage and bolt on from the outside. Charging takes place through hole in the frame and the charging port is fastened with some very basic looking nuts. This means drilling a hole in your frame and voiding your warranty. Some manufacturers are going to be offering EPS ready frames in 2014 but at this time it's only Pinarello that we know of."

Yeah I dunno what the deal is with having that hole drilled, seems kinda lame. The Di2 internal battery can be charged via the existing wire network, so the charge port is actually up at the junction box under the stem.

Why couldnt you just put battery in seatpost? Seems silly you have to put in waterbottle spot.

Huh? It's in the seat tube, that's the whole point. It doesn't take up a water bottle spot.

For some reason they feel it needs to be attached to the frame and they do that internally via water bottle bolts. With Di2 (and presumably this new EPS battery) you can just wrap the battery in a single layer of bubble wrap (in fact, Di2 internal battery comes in a bubble wrap tube for packaging) and slide it down into the downtube. I got a tight enough fit that it's not going anywhere and the bubble wrap keeps it from making any rattling noises as well.


Could probably get away with not drilling that hole too, and just take out your seatpost the 3-4 times a year when you actually need to charge it.

I should of worded better. I meant why not seatpost so you don't have to drill hole in frame.
