A bit of luck with the RZR's
Kind of lucky in a way, coming down a steep descent my friends full bottle came out and smashed into my front RZR and fork.
Was able to brake and pull up without crashing in a heap, only to discover that the bottle had taken out one of the spokes completely.
Really lucky the wheel didn't taco and pitch me over as we going pretty fast.
Despite losing the spoke the wheel is still in perfectly true and round , so having an untensioned wheel and the Reynolds build quality in this case is a good thing
They bad news is I'll have to send it to the US for repair which is going to take a long time to turn around and it's not going to be cheap.
The missing spoke was supposed to be at 1 o'clock

That doesn't exactly give me a warm fuzzy feeling.
Not sure I want to ride a wheel that breaks from hitting a water bottle. I've hit water bottles, and seen water bottles hit, with conventionally spoked wheels without breaking spokes or damaging wheels.

Maybe the bottle flew into the spokes in between the fork and that caused one to break? That was my first thought when I read it.

^ yeah, i've seen that happen with stainless steel spokes. It pops the lid off, water flies around, and the bottle gets squished a bit, but the spokes come through unbroken.
