How do I tolerate office work if I fantasize about riding too much?

I find myself thinking about riding about 100 times an hour at work. It really makes work suck. Anyone have trouble getting their mind off the bike?

danmc 08-23-13 09:51 AM

I'm posting this on BF while at work. What do you think?

Number400 08-23-13 09:57 AM

The only days I can focus at work are after really tough rides or races, because my legs are toast and so sore that all I want to do is sit at my desk and work to forget about the pain.

DaveWC 08-23-13 10:07 AM

I work at home so I cycle when I want.

BOO! That's not fair ! :)

I too find my mind wadering, wishing it was after wrok, or better yet that I didn't have to work. I guess you just grin and bear it, and like me play Publishers Clearing House as often as you can :)

DaveWC 08-23-13 10:13 AM

btw you can pretty much fill in the blank can't you? How do I tolerate office work if I fantasize about _______ too much? i.e. women, food, sleep, drinking. Tolerating work is the tough part.

mshred 08-23-13 10:15 AM

become a pro. problem solved.

you're welcome.

Get a job as a bike messenger.

Burnette 08-23-13 10:20 AM

Recalibration

You have cyclosis fixationitus.
To cure yourself, you need to focus on other activities that you may have been negelecting.
You should be thinking of another physical activity four times as much as cycling.
Is there anybody that looks hot in your office?

spectastic 08-23-13 10:25 AM

yea, problem with being a messenger.... you're not making much money, living in an expensive big city, and drivers want to kill you, good luck.

I check in here about once every hour. My job is just that exciting.

gc3 08-23-13 10:27 AM

alternatively, think about women...having (consensual) sex with beautiful women...

save10 08-23-13 10:27 AM

i'm constantly browsing ebay/craigslist for bikes.....i'm currently looking for N+9

sleepy 08-23-13 10:49 AM

Whatever.
When are drivers not trying to kill you?
The OP lives in SF, should be easy to get a job, find a way to get by. People survive.

If you're really committed and loving of cycling, do it. You'll find out real quick if you want to ride all the time.
Otherwise, get an oxygen tent, some steroids, and go pro.

look man...some people have issues that no amount of therapy or psychiatric medications will resolve.

Gatorfreak 08-23-13 11:37 AM

I work from home at a raised desk over an exercise bike. I'm pedaling as I write this.

Yet here I am on BF thinking about cycling during work.

Mike F 08-23-13 11:39 AM

893 working days until Im eligible to retire... Then I can ride when ever I want. Counting days makes me happy at work :)

spectastic 08-23-13 11:41 AM

SirHustlerEsq 08-23-13 12:57 PM

Ever watch Dexter?

Pug 08-23-13 03:06 PM

Call in sick and go for a ride. But don't publicly post it on Strava or you'll get busted by your boss just like my buddy did.
