Heading back to the paved trails....

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Heading back to the paved trails....

Hi all,
I've been a mountainbiker since 1990, and will probably be purchasing a road bike in the next few weeks -- provided the weather cooperates. I've found a shop I like and have my eye on a few models. I'll wait until I can test ride them to make my final decision, but here's what I'm looking at: 2003 Fuji Roubaix Pro (853 frame w/ full 105), 2005 Felt F70, and 2005 Jamis Ventura Comp. I'm 6'1" and currently 210 lbs (with a good 20 lbs to lose), so I tend to notice flexy frames pretty quickly. I'm leaning more toward the Felt simply because it's an aluminum frame and I don't want it to fex, but the Fuji is a helluva deal ($995 on sale). The shop has all these bikes within $80 of each other, so it will come down to how they feel.
Any feedback for a new-again roadie???

Oh, I plan to get another set of Time ATAC Alium pedals to use on my new ride, because I have a newer pair of Sidi Dominators that I use offroad. I'm not budgeting for a new pair of shoes...just yet. Maybe next year!
