Roller speed record .... yours.
Ok... humor me. What is your max speed record on your rollers?
I have Kreitler Dyno-Myte Rollers (2.25" diameter) and I've been up to 34.5mph. I was able to sustain 32 mph for 50 seconds.
I guess I'm bound to tear something up or just crash.

Okay tough guy I would be REALLY impressed if you accomplished this speed with the Killer Headwind installed (completely open, of course).
But seriously, different rollers sets have totally different resistance values, so it is actually very difficult to compare training speeds on rollers. Perhaps each responder could also list their set-ups?
Regards

Are the resistances listed on the manufacturers website.
I think the size of the rollers has something to do with it? So can you change resistances.

I'd have to say not all rollers are created equal 'cause I'm not a hard-core biker (but I am in pretty good shape), and I can maintain 35mph for at least 30 seconds or so. Either I'm more of a hard-core biker than I think I am, or there are other factors at play here. I'm guessing the latter.

Got up to 43.2mph last night on a set of Tacx. It's not really comparable to the road because there are no uphills but after being on them for an hour and a half you begin to realize that there are no downhills either.

I got my sports-crafter rollers up to 50-something mph on several occasions. They have very little resistance (the only thing that stopped me is that I ran out of gear, 50-12).

I can hit mid 30's without too much problem, 52-12 on 4 inch rollers.
I've hit 42 once, but was doing so much bouncing around I thought
better of it and backed down.
I'd have a hard time maintaining mid 30's on the road except of
course on downhills!

Blast from the Past
Back in the day I could touch 40mph, on a Track Bike w 90" gear. This is actually easier on a Fixed Gear.
Roller "races" used to be pretty popular as a way to pass the time during winter. Saw some pretty cool stuff, like guys sitting up and taking a jersey off at 25mph! Think there is some old Video footage of Mercx doing exactly this somewhere.

I've hit 38 on my trainer a few times this winter. Held it for a few seconds and was totally baked after. I doubt I could hold 30 mph for long either - maybe 20 seconds. The trainer kicks my azz - I always use the same resistance but don't know if it's too high or not. I sure hope it isn't too low or I'm going to have a very rough season
