I need to bring him to drive the van! And maintain the bicycles.

In that case, you should bring whatever you want and Rowan should bring the tandem. If he objects, just remind him of the first rule of tandems.

Yeah ... we opted to store our things in Arizona. Seemed like a good idea.

Aren't you in Australia? I'm so confused. Haha.

Yes, we are. I was just kind of pulling your leg suggesting that we were storing our bicycles near where you live. :)

We're moving within Australia. From Victoria to Tasmania.

Haha, I was like...that doesn't seem very economical to store your bikes all the way over here, unless you were moving over here or getting a crazy deal on a storage unit.

Bring a bike that allows you to do hill repeats.

Yeah, sadly, they're on the verge of extinction.

It's looking like we might be able to take 3 bicycles each. :D

That simplifies the decision!

Simple. If it's one bike, the tandem. No thought required. What's most important, eh?

Element GT 09-22-13 02:39 PM

Take whichever you think is the most fun to ride

bhchdh 09-22-13 03:37 PM

Machak

AnthonyMcEwen 09-22-13 04:32 PM

1. If you were in me, which bicycle would you take? Which would be the most versatile bicycle for several months of riding?
Here are my choices:

-- Titanium road bicycle
-- Sport-touring bicycle
-- Touring bicycle
-- Entry-level racing bicycle
-- Single speed
-- Mtn bike
-- Tandem

2. If you were in this situation with your own collection of bicycles? Which would you deem the most versatile/useful one?

Update ...

After much discussion, in the end we decided to take 3 bicycles each. :D Priorities! Our van was filled to overflowing with all the stuff we brought.

My three were the first three on this list:
-- Titanium road bicycle
-- Sport-touring bicycle (Machak)
-- Touring bicycle

And this weekend we've ridden 2 of the 3 already. :)
