Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Mavic kyrsuim elite v mavic ksyrium SL S

Currently have equipes and noticed a huge difference on the stock wheels, bontragers. I am up grading one step as from day one I should have gone to the elites as I realty love the look and weight of them. Lbs says go higher to the SL, Aluminium, but there is a 200 euro jump in price.
Are the elites as good as the SL or is it worth the 200 more.

Options please!

What are you trying to accomplish here? You'll lighten your wheels a bit, but you'll lighten your wallet more.

Ya I know that. For one thing I got a really good price for my old wheels. Another and more important is I have reached a stage that on most routes around me I can average over 20mph and any thing that can help me keep there or even improve it I would like to have. The improvement I seen in the equipes over the stock have me hoping the same with either set. One more silly thing is those 2013 elites do look sweet!

^ If that's the goal, the money is much better spent on deep sectioned CF rims. Kyserium wheels are not very aero, and the small weight difference will hardly make a measurable difference in your speed.

Aero wheels will make a measurable difference, .1-2mph. Then the question is whether thats worth a $1000 to you.

I gave serious consideration to aero wheels but the roads here, Ireland, are Chronic to say the least. Replacement cost of CF aeros would be prohibitive to me.
