Too late in the season to buy a CAAD10?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The battle wound is from rubbing, not dropping.
I'd say he tried to fit in a narrow space going too fast.
I've rubbed fences, & walls dodging road crap, & cars a few times to know that scar.

Congrats on joining the Cult!

I'm currently looking @ the CAAD10 Black INC, its at a place I'm trying to get a side job @ on clearance.
Still undecided on going with the CAAD10 or going CF.

As you can see from my collection/stable, I have no brand loyalty.

I'll tell you what the other posters are too polite to say: It's past the autumnal equinox...you missed the boat on buying a new CAAD10. Better luck next year.

I would be shocked if that was from anything else other than the ground. That lever has been scratched down pretty deep and at an angle that would only make sense if it were sliding on its side. I dont believe (Could be wrong) that hitting a wall in a tight space would be able to get that angle.

Still want to see a picture of the entire bike.

You think?
IMO its to smooth to be road rash, I don't see any pittting from the impact. Even the rubber on the hood is smooth.
The previous owner could've taken a grinder/orbit sander to it to try to clean it up I guess.

Remember this is the same side as the RD, I'd like to see pics of the RD to go more CSI.
If the RD is messed up, its road rash. ;P

It almost looks like its was sanded with 36 or 60 grit sandpaper.
I sand, & polish hardwook daily as my job.

I 2nd the request for full pics of this CAAD10!

I used to road race motorcycles and when people would crash on the road, their metal parts would be taken down smooth like that. I would put money on that lever being rashed by the street.

Supposedly it tipped over but it looks worse than that, however, the frame was pristine with no scratches or dents...that and the shifter shifts and brakes fine. Anything to worry about?

In addition, it seems the chain is a tight, but sure fit on the .75 side of my chain checker, so I will be replacing that. Cassette seems fine though.

Aside from the above, everything is great. Unfortunately, I can't take it out until next weekend...but I guess I am part of the club now
That's some pretty good rash on the shifter. Mine "tipped over" at about 15mph and didn't get nearly that scuffed up. If it's time to replace the chain, the bike has seen more than a few miles. HOWEVER, it's quite possible that the frame is fine, and I hope it is. Enjoy the ride, I love mine.

If it bothers you that much let me know - I have a pristine set of 105 shifters and a stock saddle (either black or white) that you can have for free. I took them off of my CAAD10 and switched to Ultegra shifters.

Would you really do that? I can send you my scuffed shifter and the WTB Speed V saddle I got with my CAAD10 (I don't have enough posts to pm you yet)

I'll try to get a picture up tonight, I can't even put a mile on it until weekend

Here's what I have: The seat is a prologo that came stock on the Silver and Black CAAD10 - it has zero miles. The shifters are either brand new or have just a few miles on them but they are perfect. Email me riveragaryj@juno.com

My shifter are messed up, & my saddle is scuffed.
Do I apply to this offer too?

Man, you really don't like BB30, do you?

Grats on your new bike, Giga! Looks great. Also, Longbeachgary is an awesome, AWESOME guy.

Enjoy it, ride the hell out of it, and keep the pics coming!

Also, invest in a clipless pedal system, you'll thank us later
