CAAD10 Ultegra 3 v Scott CR1 Team Compact
Hi Guy's, thinking of getting one of the above and would appreciate any advice.CAAD 10 seems very popular on these pages but the Scott is a full carbon bike. They are both discounted down to around $1800 in my area so any words of wisdom or help in making the decision will be very welcome. Thanks in advance.

Ride 'em both, buy the one you like better. Both are great bikes ... or go to #1 rule: buy the one with better color scheme
The CAAD10 has Ultegra, the CR1 has 105 ... The CR1 may be slightly lighter, but probably not by much if at all

I got an amazing deal on 2012 CR1 Pro frameset a couple of months ago and built it up to sub 16lbs pretty cheaply. The frame is 950g and fork 390g. I added SRAM Rival (also really cheap deal) and some relatively heavy Zipp finishing kit. I've put 1200mi on it since then and it has been a dream to ride compared to the alu Felt 85 I used before (I loved the Felt too). The CR1 is fast, smooth, comfortable, stiff and I really noticed an improvement in accelerations and climbing. I couldn't be happier with this bike.
105 is great stuff: not the lightest, but slick and reliable. 6700 Ultegra is a tiny bit lighter, looks blingier but the shifting performance is not significantly better than 105. I wouldn't make the decision based on the group set that comes with the bike.
I know the CAAD 10 is an awesome aluminium bike so I can't really say much against it, but I don't think you'd be disappointed with the CR1. Orica Green Edge rode CR1s in Parix Roubaix so it's definitely got race pedigree. I've also seen someone build up the same frame as mine to a 12.8lb bike so there's definitely weight weenie potential.
Here's a couple of crap photos of mine:

Caad10 with Ultegra is my choice. I have a 105 bike and I don't have any real complaints, but the Caad10 bike is one of those things every cyclist should own. I've also recently seen the Caad10-3 a bit cheaper locally.

+1 on CAAD10. Go ride it. That frame just feels the business.

I bought my CAAD 9 because when I stepped on the pedals, it felt like it wanted to leap out from under me, while other carbon bikes I test rode felt slower and "dead" So, definitely ride both if you can.
