Are they some type of a pulley system?! That's awesome - cool factor is through the roof. (Unintended bad pun...)
Could you give some more info on them - I'm moving house soon and have plans for one more bike to be added to the household (there is already six in here - three are mine and I'm having to store them in my bedroom). Could really use something like this when I move house - any info would be appreciated.

If you're storing that many bikes, then you'll want this setup for seven bikes:

I would love to do this but I'm afraid over time that wheel will deform a little

I've contacted one wheel manufacturer and talked with a couple of local wheel builders and have been assured that hanging a bike by the wheel is absolutely zero risk of deforming that wheel. The inward forces of the spokes are far greater than the weight of the bike hanging against the hook. Unless you are going to let it hang by the exact same spot for decades, I wouldn't worry about it.

Wow -I've been searching and didn't even know things like that existed - will definitely look into it. Thought I'm not sure if they ship into the UK, I now know what I'm looking for. Greatly appreciated!

Regarding hanging from the garage ceiling: Space underneath can't be used to park a car and you can't walk under it. I thought about this in my garage, but did not have the height to be able to use the space underneath for anything usefull.

Use that space to store more bikes.
