Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Timing is everything.... I was in the right place at the right time. And the owner of the shop wanted a educated customer with a rather nice bike. I worked with their lead mechanic on the install and we both learned how to do it. Sram has plenty of technical info online and i viewed a number of videos, so it really was easy to do.

While I like the graphics of the Red 22 mechanical better and felt they matched those of the frame and wheels, i'll just have to live with it.

My bike through its many levels of evolution from oldest to most recent ... I feel I've hit a plateau with what I do with this bike ... currently keeping my eyes open for another one.

Thanks. Wheels aren't bad, I think 1460 for the set. Frame is a 52cm. I didn't realize when I ordered it that the ALR4 came with the S series fork which is an aluminum steerer, and have since swapped it for a SL series fork, which comes stock on the ALR 5 and 6

Love the paint and bar tape, but you gotta get rid of the red valve caps.

No way! Couldn't I just reposition them? I'll come clean - they're gone. They were holding me back on my favorite climbs. ;-)

It's more of a flat than a satin red. Looks really good in person.

Knock on carbon but so far it has held up very well. No scratches or rub marks but it does show grease easy and its a little harder to get the grease off then my glossy bikes.
