I know....I know!!!!

Just like Santa's list checking it twice I should have too!!!!

Preaching to the choir here but when you buy a cable kit be sure to have the right cable for the right brake. Otherwise you will almost certainly pick the wrong cable by blindly grabbing for installation.

That is all I will say!

Had a bit of leftover after cutting it to length?

vwchad 11-19-13 05:44 PM

That is why you do the rear first...

Does "right" mean correct or not left? Don't forget that some cyclists reverse the brake actuating levers.

Cyclelogikal 11-19-13 06:02 PM

No right cable means the correct one for the correct brake. I inadvertently grabbed the rear cable to do the front brake and after cutting and getting to the rear my heart sank!!!! But simple with todays world on internet shopping. Just have to wait a few days to finish the job. Yes I should have done the rear first or at least took a few more moments to make sure I had the correct one.

I was figuring you grabbed Campy brake cables for your Rival set up. Easiest solution there is to buy a new groupset. :D

Homebrew01 11-19-13 07:55 PM

Just JB Weld the cable back together !

Hey Homebrew,
I just learned about JB Weld at my local hardware store. Is that stuff any good for bike applications? Does it stand up to vibration and compressive loads?

Homebrew01 11-20-13 02:46 PM

It's good for some stuff, not for other stuff.

What's it good for? What's it bad for? Give me an example or 2. Then I'll generalize...

Too many variables .... Go to their website to see what they suggest.
