Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What can you tell me about this Bianchi Reparto Corse?

I'm looking at buying a 90's (not sure what year) Bianchi ChromoLite Reparto Corse. I haven't been able to find any information on the internet about older Bianchi's so I was wondering if anyone here could give me some advice or information on these bikes. I won't be racing, just riding around town.

Are there any Bianchi fan/info web pages out there, because I can't find any info on not new Bianchi's.

Thanks!

I have one of these, bought it almost 2 years ago. It was a late 90's model. Unfortunately I've never been able to find any info on it. The shop I bought it from thought they stripped the parts off and sold them separately but the frame didn't have a scratch on it. Another shop, after I described it to him, said it sounded like Bianchi's "team" frame (whatever that means - maybe a budget frame for a shop-sponsored team?).
Anyway it's a really nice riding frame, not too heavy (mine's just under 22 lbs with fairly beefy wheels). The paint, I was told, is not real durable and I tend to agree. Mainly flaking off at the drop outs, binder bolt, not bad but not great either.
Sorry no specific info other than experience.
It's a real nice bike.
Is it Celeste or "Pearl/Metallic" Celeste, mine's Pearl/Metallic which looks nice until you see an older one in real Celeste.
BTW it should take an Italian BB and a 27.2 seat post and rear spacing is 130 mm. At least mine is.
Good luck and enjoy!
