2008 madone 5.2 vs 2012 jamis
 

Looking at 2008 trek madone 5.2 with ultegra components. Bike is basically not ridden. Pro racing geometry. Price is $1200.00

2012 jamis endure or something like that. Msrp 1850.00 but selling for 1400.00. Has tiara components. I know trek is lots better components but both are carbon fiber and trek is 4 years older.

If they were same year it's easy but what do you all think?

I can't say anything about the Jamis but I owned a 2009 Madone 5.2 with Ultegra and it was a great bike. That's an awesome price if it's a new bike. I'd ignore the fact that's 2008 and get the Trek.

4 year old Ultegra, is more on par with modern 105's.
I don't know much about either frames, so I can give much info.

Trek gets a lot of hate here, but they're known to make solid frames. Being a 5 series Madone means it must be pretty nice.
If it is in the condition as described, the money saved can go towards a nice wheelset.

With the Jamis, you'll get a warranty since you're buying new.
From what I've heard in the 41 from Jamis owners, they're great bikes too.

Trek with out even thinking twice, I own a trek madone 5.9 and had Jamis xentih sl (top of the line frame)and Jamis Eclipse Steel frame,both frames broke with less than a year of use not worth a penny

If the Jamis you are talking about is a Xenith Endura (emphasis on the Endura part), then they are different geometries. The Xenith Endura is more of a relaxed geometry or endurance bike.
