What to do?
Well I went to the LBS last night to grab a new lid and found out the delivery of the Bianchi Via Nirone 7 Alu/Carbon Veloce I ordered has been pushed back another 2 month   . Since I ordered it in early October I'm getting pretty peeved   . The LBS is upset as much as I am with the delays and has offered a few different solutions to get me a new ride sooner than whenever the gondola decides to show up, but anything is possible. 1 would be to change a Specialized Comp Allez over to Veloce, as I prefer campy. (There suggestion) or order me a Lemond Sarthe (my suggestion). I am just trying to decide if I should wait for the Bianchi or to order the Lemond? As I'm not partial to one or the other I have test road both Bianchis and Lemonds and they both ride great. Any suggestion, words of wisdom, sympathy and of course I would accept cash (they did offer a Colnago at cost but it's out of my price range) would be appreciated.
Thanks for letting me waste your time. |
I honestly don't know what to tell you, other than each brand of bike is each persons own personal preferance.
Personally, I think the Bianchi would be pretty cool. I would really look at the Colnago pretty hard too, even though it is pricey. I really don't think I would settle for the Specialized, as I would end up regretting it later, and then probably be going back to get the bike I really wanted in the first place. I would personally wait for the Bianchi. But, if you just can't wait, then I would look at the Colnago. |
I order a Time frame set last year, was told 6 weeks, took 14 weeks. When it showed up and unboxed it was damaged. I waited another 4 months for the frame set. I would also wait for the bike you want, not the one they can get quickly.

If price was not a issue the Colnago option would be easy. unfortunately it's just too far out of the price range, so that option is dead as well. The only thing I'm debating over is the Lemond and Bianchi options. |
I'd wait, otherwise you'll always be second guessing yourself.

Wow! That Lemond Sarthe looks good. Full Campy Veloce 10 except for the cranks. Carbon seat post. Nice steel frame. Plus the Bontrager Race Lite wheelset is very solid(I have those wheels and love them). It might be worth the wait if you are absolutely sure that the Bianchi is the bike you want...but it sure doesn't hurt to keep looking at the menu just in case you find something else that catches your fancy.
I like the ride of steel...so I really like that Lemond...with Campy 10 and a very solid wheelset! Nice color too. |

The hard part is it was a coin toss between a Lemond and Bianchi when I placed the order in October and the now coin keeps landing on it's side. |
Well, does the Bianchi come with carbon stays? Just curious. I'm not too familiar with that model. Lemond is a nice ride, but some have shyed away recently for PC reasons. Personally, I could care a less.
Even though the Sarthe is a smooth ride, there's just something about that orange that churns my stomach. Is the Bianchi celeste? If so, that is something hard to pass up on. Not the greatest color, but definitely a signature for your ride. No one will wonder what bike you have. Oh, and if I did get the Bianchi with celste and carbon stays, I would seriously look at digging around for a carbon crank just for spite. With the Veloce 10sp system, that would be pretty sweet. |

I like the orange. It's different!

Shame on you!!!
Buying a Bianchi without celeste, is like riding a bike without wheels. Just kidding. The blue they have is pretty nice too. What is the new model name? I looked on the site, but have no idea which one it is. I'm not a Bianchi expert. |
