Fuji Provence

I've been riding a hybrid for a couple years and was planning to buy my first road bike in the Spring. I'm a recreational rider, early 40's, 6' 4", 210 lbs., and ride about 30 - 50 miles a couple of times a week. In the Fall I tested some out and was leaning toward the Specialized Roubaix (around $1600). I swore to myself that I'd only buy from an independent LBS. However, the other day I happened to wander into the local Performance shop. They're clearing out the 2004's and had a Fuji Provence in my size (64 cm) marked down to around $1200! I just checked the Fuji website, it lists for over $2,000 and seems to be higher-end than the Roubaix and others in that price range. Here are the features:

* Fuji Altair 2 Custom Butted aluminum frame with Carbon seat stays.
* Feather Carbon Road fork, 380g.
* Campagnolo Centaur triple, 10-speed drivetrain with Century finish.
* FSA Gossamer, 6061 forged alloy w/ 7075 alloy CNC 30/42/52 chainrings.
* Ritchey Pro cockpit and Aero Pro wheels with DT double butted spokes.

I'm thinking this deal may be too good to pass up especially since 64's are tough to find. I'm planning to test ride it and if okay I'll have to make a quick decision. So,

1) What do you think of the Fuji Provence? Positives/negatives? Is it much higher-end than the bikes at the LBS (Specialized, Lemond, Trek) that sell for around $1600?

2) Any concerns about buying from Performance vs. the LBS? Having tested a number of bikes last Fall, I'm fairly certain the frame size is correct. However, I doubt they'll be able to adjust it to fit me as well as the LBS would. And then there's the issue of service but I guess I can always bring it to the LBS.

Thanks in advance for the input!
