2013 was pretty good to me: 2778 miles on the bike which burned 167,435 Calories over 329 rides. 2014 will start with a 130 mile ride in a few weeks and many miles to follow!

Background as a cyclist?...what kind of bike and set up? How do you feel your cycling is today compared to your 70's and 60's.
My hero as well and hope to be like you.

Venice or a couple of hours south. Drove through Tampa and stopped on the way down.
I don't have a calibration on the organized cycling yet in this area but as you know FL is a big cycling state.
Warmest month on record in FL...been unbelievable compared to artic conditions throughout the US this short winter.

Barely 2000 miles, slowed by crash last August and down from last year's 3K. No worries...it's a new year!

Per Garmin Edge 500 and tracked on Ride with GPS:
That's a mix of road rides, commuting, some cyclocross rides and about 5 mountain bike rides.
Not included: about 85 miles on the Schwinn single speed
Not a bad year considering I spent 59 nights in hotels for work travel with no bike.
2014 goals:
- Distance: 3,212 miles
- Number of Rides: 102
- Total time riding: 9 days, 12 hours
- Climbing: 180,648 feet

2014 goals:
- Distance: 3,000 --- based on my work schedule, I still think that's a good goal for me
- 122 rides --- that would mean riding 1 out of 3 days for the full year
- CX racing --- I skipped 2012 due to injury and 2013 due to laziness

3,003.3 miles logged in Strava. In 2012 I rode 0 miles. Same for 2011, 2010, etc., all the way back to the 1970s. I'm happy with that.

Because you are an inspiration to me and many aging boomers, tell us a bit about yourself if you would.

From the thread:
Yes, we are still riding very regularly; been tandemistas since 1975 and our Zona is our 5th tandem. It is almost broken in with 33,000+ miles on the odo.

220 ft elevation (should actually be about a whopping 1600 feet but Strava does not recognize the largest climb in South Florida of a 73 foot drawbridge)

My recorded numbers were 3,530 and 177,480 feet. But that doesn't include 2 or 3 rides where I forgot to start the Garmin ( it'll happily show me following the route on the map, but never remind me to hit start), and a couple missing when I didn't recharge after the previous rides. Oh well, close enough.
~~~~~~~
Here's the first 125 posts that mentioned their miles (or km*.62) and their feet (or meters*3.28). Reports of miles without feet are on the X axis.
I did this pretty quickly, so there may be a couple of bad data points.
There's more riders over 10,000 miles than I expected.
About 50 feet per mile over the whole season seems quite common. That's the 45 degree diagonal line from the 0,0 point. But the riders over 4,000 miles tend to be above that line, more like 60+ feet per mile.
The flattest territory award goes to fmy906, with 3,052 miles and 8,068 feet. Wow, 2.64 feet per mile! EDIT--he reports below that 1100 feet of the 8000 were in one away ride!
Hilliest is robbyville, 3,546 and 284,311 feet. 80 feet per mile.
(The entry at about 2,500 miles with 325,000 feet is an error.)
