Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Oh, trust me, I've been scouring the local market. Buying some vintage woodworking tools (I need some planes) for actual use. You can happen along gems locally if you have extreme patience, but otherwise they're in a condition beyond repair and/or they're priced as decor (too high).

It really sucks as a seller, but is a little more tolerable as a buyer. If you're in a small marketplace and/or are trading in a niche market, there's often not much of an alternative.

Some coffee stops are better than others. The mocha at today's was exceptional and worthy of a photo.

I have also never used eBay. I called on a Craigslst item once (a 1990's Bianchi with no wheels) and that call has put me off trying that again.

So, no matter what, it'll be a great old school QB vs a member of the new guard in the Superbowl.

I had a few prerequisites for the new frame. Near the top was threaded.

Good club ride today. We had a very large number of riders (maybe 25-30) but split into two groups.

Needless to say, I went with the slower group. It's winter, for goodness sake. No need to hammer.

I have been using ebay forever. When used properly, it's almost frictionless capitalism. Agree it's a great way to get obscure items.

I got outside on the SS for a bit. My cycling mileage again exceeds my running mileage. But goodness I have lost a ton in four weeks of replacing riding and overeating with running and dieting.

I haven't had a beer in two weeks. It's difficult to watch football and not drink beer.

Both of my bikes are BB86. I have pressed in (plastic cups) BB's in both and have had no issues. The BB30 in my C-Dale had bearings with clips and what not. It was a creaking PIA.

If I had a BB30 bike, it would creak. It would be adding an issue I've never had with absolutely no benefit.

I haven't yet heard of a compelling, functional reason to get any smartwatch. At the right price, I can see them being a neat, but unnecessary extension of your phone's screen. Otherwise, they'll have my interest when they add significant ease or functionality to paired smartphones or when they replace smartphones.
