Holy snap dragons! Amazon not only suggested a product that was relevant, but also a good deal. I have the Nashbar carbon/aluminum frame sitting in the basement, and waffle about building it into a rain bike (for like a year now). Lo and behold, an Easton EC70 SL fork with 50 mm rake pops up as a suggestion, I check out my frame geo, and that odd ball 50 gets me 5.48 cm of trail, which is almost identical to the trail on the SS. So I committed $72 American, plus $6 shipping. It will now have the perfect fork to sit with in the basement.

No ride today. Went for 3.5 mile run this morning, it was OK but I have this nagging achilles issue that won't go away.
I had to drop the girls off at the Y for swim practice this afternoon. Just for kicks I went in the pool and swam 1 km. First time in the pool this year.
It took 24 minutes, which is mediocre to slow for a swimmer. My swimming is such fail. Where is Hummer when I need him??

Did a chatty easy ride with a team mate today and we discussed everything from 2014 race plans and old races to the unfortunate reality of dog mortality.
Somewhere along the way we got into weight loss and when I told him I once weighed 260# and could barely finish a 10 mile MUP ride. I thought of this post. Cycling has been good to me.

Cycling has been good to me as well.
When I restarted riding again in 2007, I weighed 219. Now I feel fat at 190 which is where I'm at today. By summer I'll be 180 again. I just renewed my passport and I looked at the picture from 2004. Holy crap I was a fat ass.

You can also, apparently, say lardass. This reminds me of the pie eating contest in Stand By Me.

Great post Herbie!
I started on BF in the Hybrid and Clydes Forums, and was actually thinking about losing my Clyde status this week/next week. I went from 225 to 205 fast with cycling, but then have hung there for years. I am for the first time in a long time thinking 185 is possible. Coupled with the no smoking, I intend to rock my bike in the Spring.
I want to do the Glen race, but don't know if they will let me bring the treadmill.

Strong work on weight loss peeps.
I was 230 at my max. Committed dieting brought me down to 200, and cycling put me in the 178-182 range I try to maintain today.
