Happy New Addiction XXXI

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was a guinea pig in med school and participated in a study where I had to increase my weight by 10%, and keep it on for a few weeks.

At start of study: 145
After 3 weeks: 160

It was easy to gain the weight, they gave us free "sustical" which is like ensure. I drank 3 or 4 daily. Only took 3 weeks to gain the 15 pounds. It took more like 3 months to lose it.

That was 20 years ago.

Current weight: 143. Fluctuates from 136-148.

Pre-game ride. There is a reason the NREL wind lab is there. The Reynolds aren't as well behaved as the Rails in the wind, but I like them just fine.

Coupled with the no smoking, I intend to rock my bike in the Spring.

I want to do the Glen race, but don't know if they will let me bring the treadmill.

Thanks... I find it's good to keep a bit of perspective as to why I started riding a bike in the first place as I find my self getting sucked in deeper and deeper into discussions not greatly dissimilar to this....

I was well over 200 in the yearly 2000s. I've made pretty steady progress since dusting off the old Schwinn a few years ago. I slipped under the 200 mark in 2013.

93 was scary. I planned on doing a few loops of the Morgul, but rode towards Hygiene instead.
