A funny for you

My DH was in the garage and came back in to tell me "Your bike needs new tires!" I was thinking, oh, crap, did they go flat or something? So I take a look and they are fine. I asked him what he was talking about and he said, "They are bald! No tread!" They are road tires.:lol: I laughed at him and then explained that they are not supposed to have tread.

DH is internet-speak for Dear Husband in some corners of the web.

Dear Husband

peaches123 01-09-14 05:09 PM

Well, that was a bust. Next time I'll type out "husband." :p

Lanovran 01-09-14 05:14 PM

Ah, I see. It wasn't an abbreviation that I'd seen before, despite my having seen plenty of net-speak. Now I know. -=::*

Seriously? Ugh.

Nachoman 01-09-14 06:46 PM

I never heard my wife refer that way to me . . .

That's exactly what I thought. I'm not married and apparently spend WAY too much time on cycling forums.

I don't know. I had to google DH the first time I saw it. I've only ever seen it when a google search dumped me in a forum full of gossipy housewives.

We were watching "Chopped" last night (cooking competition for those that don't know) and at one point, one of the chef's said "Sad Face" as a way to describe how she felt about the dish she made. My wife (or DW) said "ugh...this generation".

clichty 01-10-14 10:12 AM

That's gotta be one of the few people from my generation (late 20s, assuming this contestant was around that) who would use that. I would say that's one more generation down, the current teens and kids would use that. I see those terms thrown around on Facebook and want to punch myself in the face.

I have a 14 year old daughter and some of the abbreviations and made up words that come out of her mouth boggles my mind. Its like they have their own language, and its just plain goofy.
