Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Why nothing but negative postings? Aything good in the world?

F this sh-t, Piece of crap, worst thing ever! I WASTED MY MONEY!! You never hear. Wait isn't that cam lever supposed to be down, Damn these are nice. Maybe I should repost and let everyone know that these are not as bad as I said when I was mad.

That squeek that I had, was not the bottom bracket, it was my front wheel Quick release that was loose. Or the seat post clamp was loose. Now that i tightened it the squeek went away. All that is out there for eternity is that BB30 sucks, this frame sucks , stay away from this. Never as I said, My right cleat was loose on my shoe. that is where the squeek was coming from. Everybody check your shoes, this might be your problem too.

Please as a community post your FIXES! This will help your fellow cyclists with anything that they to might encounter.

Please post your likes also. Not just stuff that breaks. Post about stuff you love and can't live without. Post about stuff that looks good, and performs well.

Don't tell me about flats, and don't buy this tire, when it clearly states "race " on the box, and that all of your roads are cinder, and I flat all of the time.
I train on $150 tubulars and I get only 100 miles out of them. Does that not sound dumb? I weigh 900lbs and ride 1100 gram rims with a 12.2 lb bike that i paid $18,000.00 for and it feels like a noodle! MORONIC!

Information is what I need when i log in. I want to read of others experiences, of new stuff that is out. Breaks and FIXES!! if I see one more , this handlebar tape sucks, it keeps breaking when i put 100lbs of pressure on it to wrap it around my handlebars I might go out and shoot something!

And please if you have never road a bike in your life, don't post. If you have never raced, don't post about racing. If you don't own or have tried the product , please please don't comment on it. (my friend had that, he said that it was trash).

Now that this is out of my system, I think I will get a bag of chips, an ice cream sandwich, a soda, turn on the tv and relax, because in two days. I get back on the wagon. there are too many youngsters that need to be schooled next season.

^I lol'd.

Seriously though... you're just clicking on the wrong threads. That and squeaky wheels tend to squeak louder. Misery loves company. If there are 100 products that are really and truly amazing and actually work, there are 5000 that simply don't work for everyone.

I think bag balm makes great cold-weather chapstick. You might disagree. That's life... right?

I like the USB rechargeable long red blinkie by Serfas. For my rides (35-60 miles on rural roads) they could literally be lifesavers.

I really like Shimano 6800. Such a light touch.

I like the Timbuk2 top-tube bag that I keep tools in and that has a pocket for my iPhone such that I can see it. I like that it seems to annoy everyone who EVER fancied themselves a Hot-R-Not judge.

I like saying brifters because I know, somewhere far around the Earth, Bdop grows another gray hair in exasperation.

I like the 11-32 cassette on my 6800. A lot.

I like my Gore Windstopper jacket.

I like beer. Weed. Good music. My wife's medical-marvel of a booty which has kept it's form at age 49.

I think a lot of complaints can be traced back to intentionally inferior product design due to planned obsolescence.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planned_obsolescence

We clearly have the technology to make durable long lasting products, however most of these products are discontinued or the company fails.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centennial_Light

Never underestimate the "profit motive" its one of the leading causes of disease, war, and most human suffering on the planet.

I love Castelli. The real Castelli has no equal. The fake junk Castelli that comes from china, (" the worst stuff you have ever worn in your life"!) If it has a white chamios it is fake! If there is no lable stating where it was made. FAKE! Some nock offs really hurt a product image , like Castelli. and some not as much.

Carbon frames. Lets just say, there are only maybe 4 major frame manufacturers located where? Now they can actually make some very good and downright awesome frames. Some actually better than the ones they represent. Maybe like sneakers, frame buyers actually choose from a catalog of frames, and decide on which ones they want to put their name on ? Just thinking it. Maybe it is true.

What I am saying is that also, before you bash a product ,also make sure that it is the real thing, Don't bash Dura ace cassettes, that you bought for a $100 new when they go for $200.

You get what you pay for. Let us know, about bad, fake products, and bad so called real products. Just please let us know.

New Polar Bottle-Easier to squeeze, and slicker exterior make it easier to slide into the bottle cage.

New Halo Headband-Wider, softer yellow strip is more effective.

Machka. We just got the first real snow in the PNW.

I am about ready to burst with ski energy. Oh yes I am.

Ski geek talk is just as fun (and funny) as bike geek talk. I am werry, werry excited and might go so far as to include a ski trip or three in your weekend exercise threads.

What's your secret? How do you get away with this? Every time I make a helpful linguistic suggestion, I get blasted. Sigh!
