The fact that you can even refer to a wheelset build with 50mm rims (much less adding 60mm in there) as being in the contention for a set of "climbing" wheels is a bit mindblowing to me. |

I know that there are deeper wheels, but a 50/60 wheelset are aero wheels, and aero wheels generally come with an weight penalty. I was considering a similar wheelset, but was steered to something shallower in front because I am probably too small/ light for a front wheel that deep (although newer semi-toroidal designs are supposed to be better in crosswinds).
