Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

POST VACATION WEIGH IN MIRACLE!

Lost a pound. I even ate dessert 5 out of 7 days. I guess it was all the lap swimming?

Scottsdale. I never rode in that part of town, when I was there. Stayed north of Cactus Rd. Drank mojitos at Tommy Bahamas.

Yep, its in Scottsdale (but its all the same, really). They have one about to open downtown and there's also one in Terminal 4 of the airport (which I probably walked by last week). It's a bit of a hike for me as I'm on the other side of town, but next time I'm over that way, I'll have to try it out.

We passed a very pleasurable afternoon with two-for-one mojitos down in Mexico.

I need to try out a medical joke in this room.

OK, there is a new diabetes medicine out. It essentially works by making you pee sugar. It lowers your sugar modestly and also causes modest weight loss. Downside is that due to the sugar in the urine, it increases the risk of yeast infections significantly, especially in women.

Physicians are just itching to try it out....

Actually, I'm itching to talk about my NCAA bracket once I get it done. LoP and I are currently TV-less and I was talking about how last year DirecTV had four channels of wall-to-wall March Madness and I think I scared him.

I think it could work with a little finessing. "There's a new diabetes medicine out. It's good stuff. You lose weight, your blood sugar goes down. There's just one problem really: because you're peeing so much sugar, you're a whole lot more likely to get a yeast infection. Still...I hear chicks are itching to try it out."

Phoenix is changing and the city is getting nicer, but for the most part its just different income levels of suburbia around the city.
