Bike Weights
Does anyone know of a source that lists the weights of various bicycles? Problem is, most manufacturers are not willing to list the weight of their bikes in either their catalogs or websites.
I'm not a weight weenie (will be purchasing a steel road bike soon), but if all other things are relatively the same, and one bike is 22lbs, another is 20 -- guess which one I'm gonna go with. Is there a website or another source to find this information? Thanks in advance for your help! |

It would be difficult to list accurate weights for bikes. Many models come in six or eight sizes. Many come without pedals. Many come with "throw-away" saddles that owners replace on day one.
Many of the "listed" weights are based on a "small size" without pedals. So, if you ride a size 58 and use pedals, add about two pounds to the listed weight. |
