Haute Route

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Did it with Carmichael Training systems. Basically, we rode the whole course;got a 2 hour head start on the pro's and had to finish ahead or get pulled.

We were treated as the 17th team in the race, eating with the pro teams, staying in the same places, having the same access, and the same support from sognieurs and mechanics. Kind of a fantasy camp for cycling.

There's a thread on here with pics and details.

I have watched the videos of the Haute Route on YouTube, and it does look epic indeed. It would also kill me, as I find climbing a highway overpass a challenge.

Looks like it'd be pretty awesome! I've ridden a bunch of the roads the Alps and they are incredible.
