Did it with Carmichael Training systems. Basically, we rode the whole course;got a 2 hour head start on the pro's and had to finish ahead or get pulled.
We were treated as the 17th team in the race, eating with the pro teams, staying in the same places, having the same access, and the same support from sognieurs and mechanics. Kind of a fantasy camp for cycling.

I have watched the videos of the Haute Route on YouTube, and it does look epic indeed. It would also kill me, as I find climbing a highway overpass a challenge.

That looks like it was a great time (granted living in WV means I gain a twisted pleasure from suffering on mountains)! I will certainly be looking into how to do that, since it wouldn't be nearly as costly as going to Europe
