New bike serial number?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New bike serial number?

Previous bikes were cheap enough not to worry about theft. Not so now. I looked in the usual place (BB) for a serial number and can't find it. Is there a serial number on full carbon bikes? If not how does one describe bike for insurance and possible police theft report?

Mine had two stickers. I forget where the first one was, but it was easy to see. I found the other one near the BB when I flipped it over to wash it once.

I suspect different vendors have different practices.

It varies by manufacturer, but many bike shops include them either on the receipt itself or in documentation, if your bike comes with a manual. Call your shop and ask. they should be able to quickly tell you.
