More Money Than Sense? I want a Colnago C60....

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

More Money Than Sense? I want a Colnago C60....

It's not lightweight. It's not aero. It's far from super-stiff. Frameset MSRP is $6200.

So many reasons why this is not a good idea...

I want one...this Italia in white...although maybe it might get Campy if I'm going to be wasting that much money anyhow...

I don't know much about the C60, don't buy it if it isn't actually a good bike. But if it's just heavier than its peers, and not as stiff, and that won't stop you from doing what you want to do on it, and you really like it: If you can afford it, why the hell not? And it's pretty

Cheers

I would say yes, more money than sense, but that's just because I'd be jealous. I wanted a C59 for a while, but I think that realistically, if I were to buy a Nago today, it would be a M10S.

$6200 for a frameset is stupid. That is ridiculous, and I don't know how anyone charges that for a bike.

but, DAMN that is good looking ride. If you have the money for it, why not?

get a similar frame for 1/10th the price and some Colnago decals, then spend half the savings on therapy to help you to get over stigma of riding a fake one?

People complain when every other bike company builds frames in Taiwan/China and they complain when you have a bike built in Italy and it has a msrp of $6200. But seriously good looking bike and it could be the last gen that is made in Italy, if you can get it I say do it.

Get one. I bet if you tabulate all the thousands of $$ you blow on things in life that don't make you happy, you could buy multiple C60s per year. So just do it.

I think the correct expression is "More Dollars than Sense."

That said, if you want it and can afford it, why not?

Same can be said of many things. A Rolex do I need to spend $3 K to tell time? Timex = $30. Maserati quattroporte is not the fastest, most powerful but the Ladies luv it. Lastly, Brad Pit was never known to be a Member of Mensa but....again the ladies.
That bike is crazy cool and if you have the coin Dude buy it and post pictures.

I think you should buy it, especially if it will inspire you to get outside and ride more often. I've never regretted buying mine.

The way i look at it is I can budget five hundred dollars a month for all of one year, which is then followed by eternal happiness. That's an easy call. Buy it!
