Pardon the embarrassing question... but
I feel as if this should come natural being a biker and all, but I can't seem to find a helpfull Youtube video or instructional to help me figure out how all this works, and before you scorn me, just know I am a super noob.
I just purchased a set of Shoes, and some Crankbrothers pedals, and I have no idea what to do next like clipping and installation. Don't make fun of me, ok go ahead and make fun of me, just include some good pointers.

You should have received a pair of cleats with the pedals. Obviously they go on the bottom of the shoes - one left and one right. Put them on the bottom of the shoes. Install the pedals but remember that one of them is a reverse thread. Tighten everything and off you go.

For people just getting started, it can be highly worthwhile to buy things at a shop precisely because they can help you with stuff like this. The official documentation onlin which you also should have received with your pedals is quite decent in addressing exactly what you need to know
The easiest way to deal with this is to have a buddy that rides help you out. Nominally, it's very easy to attach the cleats to the pedals, but knowing things like how tight they should be, where they should be placed, and how to figure out the angles is something that's easier to do with assistance if you don't know what you're doing. If in doubt and doing it on your own, you can make middle of the road choices and if you're "average" enough, it will work.

I hope you haven't messed up your threads -- that's an expensive mistake. One easy way to remember how to tighten pedals is that you tighten the pedals in the same direction as the cranks turn.
It might be worth going to a shop and explaining your situation. They aren't obligated to help, but a lot of places will hoping you'll come back (and you should). Installing cleats is really easy, so unless you've messed something up, you're probably not getting something. My first guess is that the pedal tension is too high or you're not getting the clip in motion/force right. Beginners often have trouble getting in and out. Don't worry, it gets easy fast.

Isn't the problem that Crank Brothers cleats aren't standard. Did the cleats come with the pedals or the shoes. Are you sure Crank Brothers cleats are compatible with the hole pattern on your shoes.

note that most, but not all, clipless pedals are made to fit cleats manufactured by the pedal maker. SPD=shimano, look=look, eggbeaters=crankbrothers, etc. most shoes, but not all, are made for either a three bolt cleat (road) or a two bolt cleat (MTB). that means that although manufacturers make pedals that, for the most part, only work with their cleats, shoemakers make shoes that work with two kinds of cleats, three bolt (road) and two bolt (mtb).
remember, if you are not confused, then you're just not thinking clearly.

guy just got his bike out of the back of his SUV, while his buddies were waiting impatiently already clipped in and ready to roll. so the guy jumps on his bike, clips in, and immediately tips over. wasn't hurt. i had to laugh.
turns out he had bungeed his front wheel to the downtube to facilitate loading and unloading...
