Helmet Padding issue
I purchased a new helmet. The Giro Savant. It got great reviews, but as I rode with it, I don't like the way it is padded. The padding where they fuse the pads together rubs my forehead. Also, the padding isn’t one strip in the front. They are two separate side pads that join in the front with a ¼ inch gap.
Maybe it is me. If it is annoying now, what happens if I wear it on longer rides? |
yup I don't like it either, that's why I'm wearing cycling cap underneath my Savant

If the pads are rubbing against your forehead, the helmet might be too loose.

How comfortable a helmet is depends a lot on how if fits the specific shape of your head. Reviews aren't very helpful in this regard because it's pretty unlikely and you don't know if the reviewer's head shape is the similar to yours.

The dealer took the Giro Savant back, no questions. I tried on the Specialized Echelon II. It fit great and the padding wasn't an issue. The Specialized Propero II seemed to have better venting. He had to order one. Hopefully it fits as well as the Echelon II.
