Best wheels over $2500? What should I buy?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Best wheels over $2500? What should I buy?

Tell me what to get. I want the best value and performance in a wheel-set priced more than $2500. No upper limit on cost, however. Only qualifier is they have to be in production, not special one-off wheels. I expect at least a 10% rise in my street cred as the primary result of this purchase.

I realize you're trolling, but I had this discussion with a friend of mine yesterday, and honestly think that Enve Smart system is the best overall wheel out there right now, keeping in mind other things about ownership such as customer service and crash replacement, not just pure performance. Others in this range are Reynolds (aero series) and Zipp. I feel that this is the sweet spot.

Get PSIMET to do the ENVE and choice of components.

Shimano C35 tubulars just won Amstel Gold, so they must be the best wheel. I'm sure you can find someone who will take $2500 for them.

I'm trying to decide between the enve's and the november rails.

I realize the enve's will give me more message board cred but I kind of like the simpleness of the rails.

If you do enve wheels, does that mean you need an enve post, stem and bars too? How about enve socks?

The most important thing is matching the Enve logos...either all black or all white, cannot mix and match...

You need to post a pic so we can see what wheels would match with your bibs that pop.

Solid gold is the only way to go. They weigh more, but if you push enough watts that doesn't matter.

Hah! Just about the worst wheel material ever! Heavy and soft. For the extreme poseur, only! But make sure they have prominent brand labels, too.
