Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Got tangled up with Psimet in a wheel thread. He called my experiences "meager".

Wow! I see what you mean. Walking on a knife edge really is dangerous.

Dangerous? Oh man, you just dont know. I was doing a strava KOM run down the sidewalk, had my earbuds in when I saw this thread. There was this little old lady walking down the sidewalk waving this white cane around. Well, I just had to go no-hands for just a quick moment to post. That old lady....she heard me coming and before I knew it she jammed that white cane into my spokes and was yelling at me!! Dang that hurt.

I once referred to another site's forum that shall be nameless (but might be known as roadbikereview) on what was BF 41, and for my offense was not only publicly excoriated but banned from even signing on the BF for a month...

After years of therapy, I can now say it. I was called a Fred. Yeah, I know. Pretty intense, but I'm in a better place now.
